What is the Difference between e-ATX and other motherboards?

The configuration of a motherboard or a computer can get a little confusing. The terms like ATX, e-ATX, or mini ITX can be quite daunting and something you would find difficult to understand. What does each of these nomenclatures mean?

The ATX is the largest or the biggest motherboard that you would come across. The e-ATX is what stands for extended ATX and packs in much more than an ATX motherboard. A micro ATX motherboard is smaller than ATX. Then come the ITX and mini ITX motherboards. Please note that mini ATX is more modest than the micro ATX standard. This can be further confusing as we have grown up understanding that micro is smaller than mini!

That makes it quite clear – the e-ATX motherboard is the biggest, followed by ATX, micro ATX, and finally mini ITX.
