The Intel 14th-gen Core non-K desktop CPUs represent the locked versions of the Raptor Lake Refresh processors. The Raptor Lake Refresh processors are compatible with the Intel 600-series as well as 700-series chipset-based motherboards. They support both DDR4 and DDR5 RAM and come with 65W TDP.

14th-gen Core non-K desktop CPUs are Intel’s latest processors that provide more efficient cores and faster performance cores. They also support PCIe 4.0/5.01. Being locked, they can’t be overclocked. Moreover, their power consumption is lower than the unlocked K-series models.

  • Core i5-14400 offers six P-Cores and four E-Cores to work for a 10-core/16-thread configuration. The P-Cores have a maximum boost frequency of 4.7 GHz.
  • In the AIDA64’s stress test benchmarks, the Core i5-14400 could attain 3.5 GHz boost frequency with E-Cores and 4.1 GHz with P-Cores. During benchmarks, the power consumption of the Core i5-14400 reached up to 84.75W.
  • The Core i3-14100 has attained a maximum all-core frequency of 4.5 GHz @ 68.75 W. But the Core i5-14400 attained 4.10 GHz (E-Core at 3.5 GHz) with 84.75 W TDP. The noticed 200 MHz boost in speed provides marginal performance improvements compared to the 13th-generation models.
  • It has a 2.6 GHz P-Core base frequency that is a slight improvement from the existing lineup’s 2.5 GHz. The boost clock speed is approx. 200 MHz more than the existing lineup.
