How to block Ad’s on Apple iPhone and iPad

With the release of iOS 9 Apple has introduced Ad & Content blockers, which can block unwanted content and Ad’s from Google Adsense as well as block JavaScript on your webpages.

There are several out there, out of which I recommend 2 of them:

  •  Adblock Plus for iOS is available for free on Apple’s App Store.

  • Crystal: It claims to be  4x faster, saves up to 50% of your data.

Where can I block ads?

Currently it only works in Safari and you’ll also need an Apple device with a 64-bit processor for performance reasons. That list currently includes:

  • iPhone 6s & 6s Plus 6 & 6 Plus, iPhone 5s
  • iPad Air 2 & iPad Air
  • iPad mini 2 & iPad mini 3
  • iPod touch 6

Are you a content Publisher?

Content publishers are earning in hundreds and thousands of dollars, and are pretty much upset with this feature, and for good reasons. Currently Ad revenue is supporting most of the worlds most visited websites. If content is blocked, a major source of revenue would be blocked as well. My take on this is that technology evolves, and so would be the Ad platforms publishing digital content.
Cheers!
