How To Upload & Download Photos from Mi Cloud in Windows and Android

As a user of Xiaomi based Mi phones with MiUi, you might be facing issues with your free Mi cloud storage space running out. In a different post, I have already explained the steps to prevent your photos from being uploaded on the Mi Cloud automatically. For users who already have a lot of photos on the Mi Cloud and want to download or clean up your photos from the Mi Cloud back to your phone or PC locally, this post is just for you.

How To Download Photos from Mi Cloud Using a Windows PC

The easiest way to download all your photos back to your PC is by using the Xiaomi companion app called “Mi Cloud Manager“. The app provides both “upload” and “download” options. This is a use-case for end users who are looking to upload or download pictures from a PC. Here are the steps to download photos from the Mi Cloud using a Windows 10 PC.

Step 1: Download and install the Xiaomi Mi Cloud Photo Manager App from here. Direct Link is here.

Step 2: Install the Mi Cloud Manager on your Windows PC.

Step 3: Launch and Run the Mi Cloud application and Sign-In with your Mi Cloud Credentials.

Note: The Sign-In authentication might send an OTP (One Time Password) to your registered mobile.

Step 4: Select Download and select the Albums to download locally. Multi-selection is also allowed.

Step 5: Select the download location and click on the download button.

How To Download Photos from Mi Cloud on Android

On your Android Phone, however, you will ‘not‘ be able to download the entire album in one go. You will need to select the photos as individual items and then tap on the download button. This way, the PC app gets the upper hand, especially when you have a lot of photos/albums to download together.
