Last year, Nvidia had released its ten series GPUs in the Geforce GTX series. This new series has been a game changer. Gone are the scaled-down versions of the previous generation models. Even the new high-end laptop GPUs have set to be effective on performance in tune with its desktop counterparts. Spec Sheet Compared
The Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti share the same spec sheet in most aspects. The maximum video memory (VRAM), memory speed and memory bandwidth are at the same level. The main difference lies in clock speeds and CUDA cores. GTX 1050 is clocked at 1354 MHz compared to the 1493 MHz on GTX 1050 ti. The former has 640 CUDA cores, and the latter comes with 768 cores. This would mean GTX 1050 Ti is more capable than the GTX 1050.
Do note that OEM manufacturers will tweak the base clocks to boost its performance.
Why did we leave 1060 for this comparison? Well, it is a little high end compared to these two. It is VR Ready unlike the GTX 1050 and 1050 ti. The clock speed reads at 1403 MHz but can be boosted up to 1670 MHz. It has 1280 cores making it the highest performer. The VRAM capacity of 3 GB should be what makes it a beast in comparison to the other two, though a little bit costly.
One more point here. The GTX 1060 comes in two variants concerning the RAM capacity. You can either opt for 3 GB of RAM or 6 GB RAM (GDDR5).
By looking the spec sheet, itself should give you a better idea of how capable the GTX 1060 can be, and it didn’t disappoint us in our tests either.
However, all three of these ten series GPUs work their best at around 30 fps frame rate at the ultra-high settings. The GTX 1050 can run games – even the high-end ones at 30 fps – quite comfortably, barring a few. The GTX 1050 Ti does it quite smoothly without any hiccups. The third, GTX1060, can reach up to a maximum of 48 fps at the top end.
However, do not expect the smoother 60 fps performance that you would expect from the high-end devices.
Which Among These Three Should you Go For?

The GTX 1050 should be best suited for the entry-level gaming PC’s. The GTX 1050 Ti raises the price by around $100 to the PCs base price. You should be able to get slightly better performance over the base model of GTX 1050. The desktops equipped with it would cost little upwards of $600 or so. You will get high-efficiency performance along with enhanced support for VR. The low RAM capacity on 1050 and 1050 Ti is likely to make you suffer when playing high-end games at top settings, while the extra RAM and the extra CUDA cores help boost the performance of the GTX 1060.
