See our disclosure statement.Last year, Nvidia had released its ten series GPUs in the Geforce GTX series. This new series has been a game changer. Gone are the scaled-down versions of the previous generation models. Even the new high-end laptop GPUs have set to be effective on performance in tune with its desktop counterparts. The mid-level series 10 GPUs viz GTX 1050, GTX 1050ti and GTX 1060 are configured to make themselves one of the best mid-tier GPU’s for PCs.How do these three GPUs from NVidia fare against each other? Let us compare their specs for a better understanding.Table of Contents GTX 1050 vs GTX 1050 ti vs GTX 1060 – Complete ComparisonPerformanceWhich Among These Three Should you Go For?The Side By Side ComparisonWhat Would You Infer From Above Comparison? The Final ThoughtsGTX 1050 vs GTX 1050 ti vs GTX 1060 – Complete ComparisonLet us check out the top three GPUs one by one and compare them with each other. Here is how they compare with each other based on different aspects.Spec Sheet Compared The Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti share the same spec sheet in most aspects. The maximum video memory (VRAM), memory speed and memory bandwidth are at the same level. The main difference lies in clock speeds and CUDA cores. GTX 1050 is clocked at 1354 MHz compared to the 1493 MHz on GTX 1050 ti. The former has 640 CUDA cores, and the latter comes with 768 cores. This would mean GTX 1050 Ti is more capable than the GTX 1050.Do note that OEM manufacturers will tweak the base clocks to boost its performance. Why did we leave 1060 for this comparison? Well, it is a little high end compared to these two. It is VR Ready unlike the GTX 1050 and 1050 ti. The clock speed reads at 1403 MHz but can be boosted up to 1670 MHz. It has 1280 cores making it the highest performer. The VRAM capacity of 3 GB should be what makes it a beast in comparison to the other two, though a little bit costly. One more point here. The GTX 1060 comes in two variants concerning the RAM capacity. You can either opt for 3 GB of RAM or 6 GB RAM (GDDR5).PerformanceBy looking the spec sheet, itself should give you a better idea of how capable the GTX 1060 can be, and it didn’t disappoint us in our tests either. However, all three of these ten series GPUs work their best at around 30 fps frame rate at the ultra-high settings. The GTX 1050 can run games – even the high-end ones at 30 fps – quite comfortably, barring a few. The GTX 1050 Ti does it quite smoothly without any hiccups. The third, GTX1060, can reach up to a maximum of 48 fps at the top end. However, do not expect the smoother 60 fps performance that you would expect from the high-end devices.Which Among These Three Should you Go For?Well, that would be something that should depend upon the requirements you may have. You can check out the spec sheet yourself. The GTX 1050 should be best suited for the entry-level gaming PC’s. The GTX 1050 Ti raises the price by around $100 to the PCs base price. You should be able to get slightly better performance over the base model of GTX 1050. The desktops equipped with it would cost little upwards of $600 or so. You will get high-efficiency performance along with enhanced support for VR. The low RAM capacity on 1050 and 1050 Ti is likely to make you suffer when playing high-end games at top settings, while the extra RAM and the extra CUDA cores help boost the performance of the GTX 1060.The Side By Side ComparisonFeaturesNVidia GTX 1050NVidia GTX 1050 tiNVidia GTX 1060 CUDA Cores6407681280 for 8 Gb Version1152 for 3 GB VersionClock Speed (Base)1354 MHz1290 MHz 1506 MHzClock Speed (Boost)1455 MHz1392 MHz1708 MHzMemory Performance7.0 Gbps7 Gbps8 GbpsRAM configuration2 GB DDR54 GB DDR56 GB DDR53 GB DDR5Memory Interface Width128 bit128 bit192 bitBandwidth112 GB per sec112 GB per sec192 GB per secPower Requirement75 Watts75 Watts120 WattsMaximum Resolution7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz7680 x 4320 at 60 HzMaximum VGA resolution2048 x 15362048 x 15362048 x 1536Standard connectorsDual-Link DVI-I, HDMI 2.0b, 3x Display Port 1.4Dual-Link DVI-I, HDMI 2.0b, 3x Display Port 1.4Dual-Link DVI-I, HDMI 2.0b, 3x Display Port 1.4Multiple Monitor Capacity (Max)4 displays4 displays4 displaysPrice[amazon_link asins=’B01M9FD3PC’ template=’PriceLink’ store=’foi04-20′ marketplace=’US’ link_id=’d1ae84b1-20a8-11e8-94f6-052946225286′][amazon_link asins=’B01M5BQRIO’ template=’PriceLink’ store=’foi04-20′ marketplace=’US’ link_id=’c321d9ae-20a8-11e8-b250-27de3631beeb’]For 3 GB – [amazon_link asins=’B01KMVHB6M’ template=’PriceLink’ store=’foi04-20′ marketplace=’US’ link_id=’81d032cb-20a8-11e8-8a5a-49197fa104c9′]For 6 GB -[amazon_link asins=’B01JHQT1SE’ template=’PriceLink’ store=’foi04-20′ marketplace=’US’ link_id=’692a3b27-20a8-11e8-a414-77a0be545541′]What Would You Infer From Above Comparison?Well, the comparison chart above should provide you a clear idea of the performance and capabilities of the three new generation 10 series GPUs from NVidia. The NVidia Geforce GTX 1060 offers excellent performance with balanced power consumption and memory bandwidth. The differentiating point that keeps the GTX 1060 a good option among the three is its support for Virtual Reality and high-performance gaming. Moreover, more CUDA cores and better clock speeds should be a significant performance booster, and that is precisely what GTX 1060 can handle them efficiently. That should not mean the Geforce GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 ti are not good performers. Your final choice should boil down to what you are looking forward regarding performance and price requirements that you are looking forward to.The Final ThoughtsFor those who do not want to go with the high-end GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 GPUs given the high cost associated with them, the three low-end GPUs in the ten series should be the best you can get. In fact, the differential performance levels that each of these GPUs come with offers you a chance to choose the one that best suits your needs. We assume the comparison we have featured herein should have offered you a clear insight into each of these three new GPUs from NVidia.
