MediaTek has been one of the prominent players in the realm of smartphone processors. The new MediaTek processor has been launched aimed at the budget range of devices, and we would soon see phones equipped with the latest processor in the later part of 2020.
Yes, we are talking about the new MediaTek Helio P95. Designed to support up to 64 MP camera, 8 GB RAM, and Full HD+ displays, the new P95 is set to bring a new lease of life into the more modern budget smartphones launched this year.
Before we can check out the best smartphones powered by MediaTek Helio P95, let us analyze the processor itself in a little more excellent detail.
The MediaTek Helio P95 – An Overview
Before we get into the details, here are some high-level specs of the SoC.

Given the naming scheme employed by MediaTek on its range of processors, it should be safe to assume that the Helio P95 comes with a marginal upgrade over the Helio P90. The processor has been launched on the Oppo Reno 3 Pro, and so far, it has been the only device that offers the Helio P95 processor.
The Helio P95 is designed to work with mid-range smartphones. The octa-core processor comes with the octa-core layout and provides you access to memory up to 8 GB LPDDR4X. We found it a little backward journey, given the fact that the flagship and sub flagship devices come with LPDDR5 accessories. The support for only UFS 2.1 storage chips should be yet another indication to prove that the new processor is designed to keep mid-range devices in its purview.
Imagination PowerVR GM-9446 GPU handles the graphics on the new MediaTek Helio P95. You also have access to HyperEngine technology from MediaTek to provide you with a robust optimization for graphics performance. The processor is also stated to support up to 64 MP primary sensors. If you are looking for dual camera performance, you can find it supporting a 24 MP + 16 MP dual-camera setup.
The MediaTek Helio P95 supports the same architecture as that its predecessors. It has two Cortex A75 cores clocking 2.2 GHz and six Cortex A55 cores clocking at 2.0 GHz. The AI processing unit on the processor – the APU has received a 10 percent performance boost if the claims from MediaTek are to be believed.
In terms of connectivity, the processor does support a 4G LTE WorldMode modem with LTE Cat-12 download and Cat-13 upload speeds. You would also find support for Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, 4×4 MIMO, 3CA, 256QAM, and 4G dual SIM VoLTE.
If you are looking for devices that the new MediaTek Helio P95 processor powers, the manufacturer have not yet revealed any time frame. At the time of composing this post, the only device that came with the new MediaTek processor is Oppo Reno 3 Pro. However, we expect a wide range of accessories by the end of this year, featuring the latest MediaTek Helio P95 processor.

The Concluding Thoughts
That was all about the new MediaTek Helio P95 processor and the features offered by the new processor. However, not many smartphones are powered by the platform as yet. It may be a while until we can witness new devices utilizing the capabilities offered by the latest processor from the brand.
MediaTek has always remained a hot favorite for budget and mid-range device manufacturers. The new processor does not bring about any massive changes but offers a few minor upgrades for the existing processor. We would indeed expect more manufacturers to join in the bandwagon in making use of the new processor. When that happens, we will update the post with the more unique device launches with the Helio P95 processor.
