How To Fix System_Service_Exception Blue Screen Errors In Windows
There have been quite a few Windows users who have been affected by this BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) error. Typically for Windows 7, 8,8.1 users have reported this in the past. This error message persists even in the latest versions of Windows 10 due to a wide variety of reasons. Primarily this error message is related to your graphics drivers. However, there could be other reasons as well, and most of them are due to 3rd party software. In this post, I am going to talk about how to fix system_service_exception blue screen errors in Windows.
Typical Symptoms in Windows 10 for “SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION“
Most of the times, this error indicates that “an exception happened while executing a routine that transitions from non-privileged code to privileged code.” is displayed.
The error message “SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION” or “STOP Error 0x3B SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION” appears or Windows crashes the active program window. Most of the time, the error message “Error 0x3B” is displayed. The associated hexadecimal value is “0x0000003B”
Other symptoms include, windows runs responds slowly & sluggish and unresponsive to mouse & keyboard input devices. Your computer can periodically “Stall & freeze up” for a couple of seconds.
Causes for “SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION” BSOD errors
As mentioned above, the above error message is related to faulty hardware drivers, Firmware issues, or software problems. Here are the list of causes:
- Error “0x3B” blue screen error can be caused by a faulty hard disk drive.
- RAM (Random Access Memory) incompatibility issues can cause “system_service_exception”
- Corrupted Windows System Files can be a potential cause
- Driver conflict, after installing a new hardware or its associated device driver.
- Malware or virus can also be a cause.
- 3rd party software emulators like Bluestacks can cause “system_service_exception” error.
- The Error in cases could be due to excessive “paged pool usage“, due to user-mode graphics drivers crossing over and passing corrupted bad data to the kernel mode.
How to Permanently Fix “SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION” in Windows
Step 1: Fix any System Files corruption in Windows. Go-to Start>Run(Windows + X) and Type “SFC /Scannow“>Press Enter. Give it a couple of minutes to complete.
Step 2: Go-to Windows “Command Prompt” and type “chkdsk /f /r” and press Enter. This scan for bad sectors and resolve any hard disk related issues in Windows.
Step 3: Update all your Video and Device Drivers from Intel, AMD, NVIDIA etc.
Step 4: Disable and uninstall any pre-installed anti-virus software’s from your computer. Note: Keep the Windows Defender running. Do not Uninstall.
Step 5: Perform a clean boot of Windows by Disabling all “Start-up Items” Go-to Start> Run (or Windows + X) Type> MSCONFIG > Enter > Click on Boot Tab > Select “Safe Boot” and Select “Network” See below:
If the problem is resolved with Step 5, check which software or startup item is causing the error.
