While both the products give you a very capable dash cam for the dollar, both have some pros and cons. For example, the A118C does not have an inbuilt battery, whereas the Yi dash cam does not have an option for a GPS function. We found the A118C a notch higher in video quality for low light scenarios and night footage. The daytime video quality is on par with each other. The number plates were visible.

The WiFi functionality on the Yi Dash Cam was very useful. It is because you are not required to take off the camera from it’s mount to download a video. You can directly download the videos from the camera using the mobile app.
It is a feature that we missed. The A118C does not have a WiFi functionality on board. On the flipside though, the A118C runs a lot cooler than the Yi dash cam. It might be an issue for users using it in hotter areas like Florida, USA.
