Are you wondering how the Snapdragon 710 Vs 730 differs from each other? This article is all about the difference between the two new SOCs from the mobile market leader Qualcomm.
To bridge the gap between the Snapdragon 600 series and 800 series processors, Qualcomm has unveiled the Snapdragon 700 series. This series processor will be more powerful and power efficient than the 600 series but a bit lesser than 800 series processor.
The 700 series processor is aimed to target the mid-range devices. The first two processors that will be launched are the Snapdragon 710 and Snapdragon 730. So in this post, we are going to compare the specifications of 710 Vs 730.
Snapdragon 710 Vs 730
The Snapdragon 710 is just a rebranded version of the Snapdragon 670. So we can say that there is no such thing as Snapdragon 670 as of now. The Snapdragon 710 is expected to bring a significant level of performance increment.
Snapdragon 710 will be built using the Samsung designed 10 nm Low Power Early (LPE) node. This SoC will support 2 x 2 MU-MIMO dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0. Breaking down the cores, the Snapdragon 710 consists of 2 big cores and 6 little cores to have a right blend of performance and power consumption. The 2 Kryo 3xx cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and 6 x Kryo 3xx cores clocked at 1.7 GHz. The Snapdragon 710 will be coupled with Adreno 615 GPU that can be clocked as high as 750 MHz.
On the other hand, the Snapdragon 730 will be built using Samsung’s 8 nm LPP. Samsung had already told last year that its 8 nm LPP was ready for production. The 8 nm LPP uses 10% less power than the 10 nm LPP. Moreover, the former one has 10% less surface area. Connectivity features are the same on both Snapdragon 710 and SD 730, but the later one will feature Bluetooth 5.1 instead of Bluetooth 5.0.
But the main difference between the two SoC lies in the CPU configuration. The Snapdragon 730 has 2 x kryo 4xx cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and 6 x kryo 4xx cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. Both SoC will share the same GPU Adreno 615.
Moving ahead, the Snapdragon 710 will support 60+ fps UI for QHD displays and will also be HDR10 compliant. It has a Spectra of 250 ISP to support up to 32 MP camera with three concurrent sensors. This SoC will work with UFS 2.1, eMMC storage types and USB 3.1 and USB 2.0 ports. There won’t be any NPU unit so all the machine learning tasks will be performed by the GPU and Hexagon digital processor Vector eXtensions (HVX).
The Snapdragon 730 has the same support for displays like SD 710. The Snapdragon 730 feature spectra 350 which supports up to 32 MP camera with three concurrent sensors along with FS2 sensor support. Both SD 730 and SD 710 have the same video encoding support and storage type supports. But they do differ in the AI features. The Snapdragon 730 has a dedicated NPU to handle machine learning tasks.
Here is a quick comparison chart: Snapdragon 710 Vs 730
