The MediaTek MT is a 64-bit ARM-based SoC. It is also manufactured in a 28 nm process. But it is a four core CPU based on the 64-bit Cortex-A53 architecture clocked at up to 1.35 GHz (MT6737T up to 1.5 GHz). The GPU used for the graphics and animations is ARM Mali-720 MP2.
Snapdragon 430 has integrated X6 LTE modem that gives maximum transfer rates of 150 Mbps downstream and 75 Mbps upstream. On the other hand, the MT6737 incorporates a Cat.4 LTE modem with CDMA200 as well as a video de- and encoder for 1080p videos.
Snapdragon 430 gives outstanding graphics performance. It can play 1080p Full HD at 60 frames a second means smooth, fluid interfaces and high-quality video. Plus, it supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 that charges your mobile four times faster than the conventional charging.
MediaTek MT6737 can only support maximum display resolution up to 720p. That is where SD430 takes the lead over the MT6737. Plus, MT6737 has their express charging technology to provide fast and efficient charging.
Coming to the camera, Snapdragon 430 supports up to 21 MP camera with 2x image sensor processor (ISP). It can record and play videos at 1080p.It supports Bluetooth 4.1 and WiFi 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, bands.
MediaTek MT6737 supports up to 13 MP camera. You can record videos at 1080p but the on screen it supports only 720p videos. Also, the maximum supported RAM size is 3 GB supporting memory type LPDDR2, LPDDR3. Overall, Snapdragon 430 is the clear winner here considering the features. But when it comes to price, MT6737 is also worth the money.
Conclusion
While the Snapdragon 430 SOC has a clear performance advantage, the MediaTek SOC have a cost advantage. It is one of the reasons why the 6737 have more design wins in comparison to the Qualcomm SOC.
